Loyal Knight – January 2020

Well the busy holiday season is over and a new year is upon us.

I want to thank all the volunteers and staff for all the hard work they have done with all the functions we have had lately. I would like to remind all Elks and their guests to please bus your own tables and bar drinks. This is a lot of extra time and work for the volunteers that they shouldn’t have to do.

I will be having another E.N.F. Super Bowl party this year on Sunday, February 2nd. Come out and support your team and the Lodge. We will be having a 50/50 raffle, prize basket, food, drinks and fun!

Soon our officers will start practicing for the Ritual Contest in Ukiah. There is still a spot in the line-up if anyone is interested.

Loyal Knight and ENF Chairman

Eureka Municipal Golf Course, Pierson Building Center, Bindel Real Estate, LCAR, Inc., Pape’, Scott Construction, Ward Mengel, Pierson Paint Department, Leon’s Muffler, Waterfront Cafe’, A.A. Lounge, Hensell Materials, Straight Flush Plumbing, Sports World, Bill Barton, and Hilltop Builders. Thank you all so much. Scott Reinsmith,

Knight’s Corner – September 2019

We had a great August at the Lodge; Coast Guard Appreciation, Jamboree with ELVIS. We’ve been busy! I would like to thank all of the volunteers and staff of the lodge for their hard work. All the out of town members. I spoke with that attended the Jamboree were very impressed with our facilities and the number of volunteers. Thank you again! Well, September is here, children are back at school, vacations are winding down and it’s time to play golf. Come down to the lodge and sign up for the E.N.F. Golf Tournament. There will be lots of prizes, food, and FUN. If you don’t play golf, but still want to help your could sponsor a team or help with the event that day. (See me if interested in helping.) Remember, this is a FUNdraiser, so come out and participate. Just a reminder, next month is October, E.N.F. month and we will be having our annual Oktoberfest on the 12th cooked by our VIP Chief Hans Gerstacker and his crew. I will be running a flier in the next bulletin with more details. People are already signing up and it will most likely sell out, so get your reservations in right away. October 12th is also our D.D.G.E.R. Brad Smith’s Homecoming! So come out for some fantastic German food, fun and help us thank Brad for all his hard work for our lodge and District, or just to hear him yodel.

Loyal Knight’s Corner – July 2019

Summer is upon us and the warm weather is here. People are coming to the R.V. park to get out of the inland heat. The Flag Day ceremony we had was blessed with great weather for the outdoor presentation. We have a lot going on at the Lodge in the upcoming months. I hope everyone will come out and enjoy some of the activities.

I did not contribute to the Herd Talk last month so I would like to retroactively thank the coaches, officers and lodge members who helped and participated in the Ritual Contest in Ukiah. As your Loyal Night I squeaked out a third-place finish.

Mark September 21st on your calendars. That is the date scheduled for our Elk’s E.N.F. Golf Tournament fundraiser. Teams of four will play nine holes in a best ball scramble. Prizes for longest drive and closest to pin on certain holes will be given. There will also be prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place teams. I still need a few more sponsors and an estimate of how many people will be playing so I will be putting a clip board with the sign-up sheet at the bar. If you want to help out (or have suggestions) please contact me at 498-1895. And last, but not least, October is E.N.F. month and our Oktoberfest fundraiser will be held the 2nd Saturday, October 12th. So come out and enjoy. Danke schön!

Loyal Knight’s Corner

Well May is here and it’s time to head down to the Ritual Competition at the Ukiah Lodge. We will be competing against eight other Lodges in our district. We will try our best to represent our lodge and maybe bring back some medals.
As I mentioned at our last Lodge meeting, we will be having a Golf Tournament for the E.N.F. in September (tentatively the 21st).

I am looking for local businesses to help sponsor the event by donating $100 to sponsor a hole. I already have a couple of donations and will be sponsoring a hole myself. Anyone interested in playing in the tournament, being a sponsor or just helping out with ideas and suggestions please give me a call at 498-1895. If you are not interested in golf but would like to donate to the Elks National Foundation, that’s fine, too.

Mother’s Day is coming right up on May 12th so don’t forget to bring out your favorite ladies, mothers, wives and daughters for a wonderful free breakfast for them and Mimosas served by yours truly. Hope to see you all there.

Knight’s Corner – April 2019

First off I would like to thank all of the volunteers of the lodge – kitchen, bar, grounds workers, etc. and the dishwashers. Without all of your help and hard work this would not be the incredible lodge that it is.

Well, the officers made it through Step up Night, and I think we did quite well. We are all practicing hard for the Ritual Competition in Ukiah on May 4th and hope to put on a good performance and represent our lodge well. We curre ntly have two officer positions vacant so if you are interested or just itching to wear a tux, contact us.

Any donations to the Elks National Foundation are always greatly appreciated but those who donate $100.00 or more can have their name or a loved one’s name added to the ENF Burl on the wall by the fireplace. Please contact me at 498-1895 if interested. Lastly, I would like to thank Dennis Hunter and his lovely wife Karen for their wonderful service this last year.
